Brookshire-Katy Drainage District cuts ribbon for new administration building
BKDD District Administrator Wendy Sidwell (front row, third from left) and Board of Supervisors President Arnold England (fourth from left) prepare to cut the ribbon on June 2 to officially open the new administration building for Brookshire-Katy Drainage District, as General Manager Stan Kitzman (sixth from left) stands by. The project at 1105 Kenny in Brookshire took two years to construct and is completely paid for, Kitzman said at the ceremony. The standing-room-only crowd included many local officials, with Katy Mayor Dusty Thiele, Pattison Mayor Daphney Kirby, and Brookshire Mayor Robert Richards among the attendees. The occasion also marked BKDD’s 65th anniversary.
