Brookshire community members join Mayor Robert Richards (third from right) at the July 4 dedication of the city’s new monument commemorating the 250th birthday of the United States. The new monument is located on the north side of U.S. 90 between Cooper and Otto Streets. The unveiling coincided with Brookshire’s 250th Anniversary Independence Day Milestone Celebration at Hovas Park, 1412 FM 359 South, on the same day, featuring live music, vendors, and fireworks.
