Volunteers from several Brookshire-area churches united for a community clean-up in late May. The group meet up at Bostick Park to take instructions from Keith Woods to help Brookshire residents in need on May 31, clearing debris, mowing yards and hauling away trash.
Participants in the clean-up were eligible for a drawing for a hand-crafted mailbox, which took place at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on June 1.
Local churches involved in the effort were Bountiful House of Blessings, Christian Center, Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lively Hope Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Rhema Christian Center, and The Word of Promise Church.
