The rumors are true —the eagerly awaited Historic Town Square water tower murals have finally arrived.

“After over a year of meticulous planning and hard work, we're thrilled to share this milestone with you,” said Kaci Maris, Tourism and Marketing Events Coordinator, City of Katy. “While the murals are not yet fully complete, and there are still some touch-ups and finishing details to be added, the progress is already impressive. A huge thank you to Keep Katy Beautiful for their dedication, countless hours, and unwavering commitment to bringing this project to life. We can't wait to reveal the finished masterpiece!”

In the meantime, Maris invites the public to come to Katy’s historic downtown square at Second Street and Avenue C and see the progress on the project, but to please refrain from touching the murals or paneling as work continues.

“Our talented artist, Tyler, is often busy on a lift and scaffolding, so for her safety, we kindly ask that you give her space and avoid interrupting her while she works,” said Maris.

“We’ve been thrilled to witness the incredible progress Tyler has made and are truly amazed by how she captures the essence of Katy life in her murals,” said Maris. “Join us on August 24th for the Katy Champions on the Square event at the Katy Historic Town Square from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tyler will be there talking with community members about her artwork, so come out and meet her if you haven’t had the chance yet.”

Maris said that more updates would follow soon, including an announcement with the date and details of the official ribbon cutting.
