Going back to school is your chance to pursue the degree you’ve been thinking about.

Western Governor’s University (WGU) says that it is committed to making students’ next steps more affordable and more accessible and the school offers scholarships as one of the many ways that WGU makes the path to a degree easier.

On top of WGU’s already-low tuition, a $3,000 Back to School Scholarship is available to help students graduate on a budget that works for them. WGU charges per six-month term, rather than per credit hour, and the competency-based courses allow students to prove their knowledge and advance through their program faster.

“This helps students to control the cost of their degree,” says a statement on the school’s website. “So, the faster you complete your program, the less you could pay for your degree.

The “Back to School” scholarship is valued up to $3,000 and will be credited to the student’s account at the rate of $750 per term, renewable up to four terms. The first step in obtaining the scholarship is to apply for admission, and the second step is to apply for the scholarship. Deadline for application is December 15, 2025.

The institution also offers more than 80 additional kinds of scholarships.
