VLK Architects announced May 14 that the firm ranks No. 193 on the Engineering News-Record (ENR) Top 500 Design Firms List for 2024, launching forward 89 spots from its 2023 ranking. This is VLK’s highest ranking on ENR’s annual list of the nation’s top design firms, which is based on the previous year’s revenue, according to a press release from the company.
Despite an economic landscape of ongoing fluctuations in global markets and uncertainties surrounding trade policies, VLK has accelerated its growth trajectory by pursuing new opportunities and strategically positioning itself to meet the evolving needs of its clients.
The ENR ranking is based on 2023 revenue of $126.4 million. The dramatic jump in ranking spotlights VLK’s organic growth, both by adding new clients and additional projects from existing clients, rather than growth through acquisition.
“This ranking is direct reflection of the VLK team’s incredible work for our clients,” said Sloan Harris, CEO | Partner of VLK Architects. “The kind of momentum VLK has had for years is a testament to our commitment to building long-term relationships with our clients and a desire to live our core values of innovation, improvement, and finding better solutions, whether through creativity, technology, or unparalleled client service.”
Through investments in people and technology, VLK is reimagining everyday business processes, continuously improving the employee experience, and redefining how its services are delivered. Three
of five of its Texas offices are undergoing office space expansion to accommodate significant headcount growth.
VLK Architects has worked on a number of projects for Katy ISD, including the Gerald D. Young Agricultural Science Center at 5801 Katy Hockley Cutoff Road in Katy. The firm is currently working on a design for a new north transportation center, the Katy Times has learned.
