Katy ISD celebrated the achievements of its top seniors during the district’s annual Student Awards of Excellence, recognizing dozens of students for outstanding academic performance, leadership and dedication throughout the school year.

Student honorees were chosen by campus leaders at each Katy ISD high school, Miller Career & Technology Center and Raines Academy.

“These students represent the highest level of excellence across the District,” said Katy ISD Board President Lance Redmon. “We’re here not only to honor their accomplishments, but also to acknowledge the parents, educators and staff whose steadfast support has guided them along the way.”

Students were recognized for outstanding achievement in individual subject areas, overall academic performance and their commitment to success both inside and outside the classroom.

“In a district of our size and caliber, being selected for an Award of Excellence is an outstanding accomplishment,” Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski said. “The students we recognize this evening have not only achieved academic success, but have also distinguished themselves through extracurricular activities, volunteer efforts and other meaningful pursuits.”

Katy ISD congratulates this year’s recipients and celebrates their contributions to a culture of excellence that continues to define the district, a spokesperson said in the May5 press release..
