Local students who wish to pursue higher education in agriculture have until April 1 to apply for the Randall Beckendorff Memorial Scholarship. All applications, which must be submitted online, must be received by midnight on April 1.
To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, the student must be a senior graduating from a Katy Independent School District high school.
According to the program website, the Randall Beckendorff Memorial Scholarship Fund was founded in 1980 in memory of Randall Mark (Randy) Beckendorff. This scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to the student who is of average scholastic performance, but who is extremely dedicated and hard-working, and who is interested in pursuing an education in the field of agriculture. The Scholarship Committee takes an active interest in its recipients, and the Fund has a very high percentage of recipients who have graduated from their chosen colleges, the organization said on its website. To apply, or for more information, go to http://www.randallbeckendorffscholarship.org/ or call Chris Sword at 281-670=4242.
