Harmony School of Innovation-Katy has been named a 2026 America’s Best Schools Award finalist by the National Center for Urban School Transformation, according to a February 2 press release from Harmony Public Schools, a public charter school system. The campus was also recognized as one of 26 Honor Roll schools nationwide. Harmony School of Innovation Katy, 21650 Bellaire Blvd. in Richmond, is among 17 finalist schools selected from thousands across the country. The recognition highlights the school’s commitment to academic excellence and student success. The America’s Best Schools Award honors campuses that demonstrate strong outcomes in academic proficiency, student engagement and postsecondary readiness. To be considered, schools must meet rigorous criteria, including high academic proficiency rates, demonstrated achievement among students with disabilities and English learners, low suspension rates and high attendance. Additional criteria apply to high schools, dual language programs and alternative campuses, with an emphasis on graduation rates and college credit attainment. The National Center for Urban School Transformation is based at San Diego State University and works nationally with districts and partners to support school transformation so that all students graduate prepared for college, careers and civic life. Winners will be announced in May 2026.
