Sandra Sadek has joined the Katy Times team as an intern for the 2020 summer, assisting with reporting in Katy, Brookshire, Pattison, Fulshear and Sealy. She has worked for Texas State University’s independent newspaper, “The University Star,” for three years. She also worked as an intern with the Fund for American Studies in Washington D.C. during the summer of 2019.
Sadek is a graduate of Tompkins High School where she worked for the school publication, "The Nestline."
During her time at the Star, Sadek covered student government and higher education, crime, elections and transportation.
Sadek is a recent graduate of Texas State University where she majored in Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in International Relations. A French native, Sadek traveled to ten different countries until her family settled in Katy, where she attended Tompkins High School.
While in college, Sadek also participated in her school’s award-winning Model Arab League team where she debated and worked on important issues affecting communities in the Middle East.
In her free time, Sandra enjoys reading, dancing and hiking. She is an avid Harry Potter and Star Wars fan.
