Tompkins freshman headed for World Cup after big wins in Mexico
Tompkins High School freshman Liana Saenz just brought home the gold with the USA Softball U-15 National Team at the Pan American Championships in Acapulco, Mexico, Katy ISD announced on its Facebook page on April 6.
The team dominated the tournament, outscoring opponents 90-2 over eight games.
Liana earned her spot on the team after standing out among hundreds of athletes at a national selection event in Florida. Next, she will travel Italy this summer for the World Cup.
