Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently announced that three Harmony Public Schools were among the list of 28 Texas schools named 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools in recognition of their outstanding academic performance and progress in closing achievement gaps, according to a press release from the charter school system.

The three Harmony schools recognized as 2025 Texas Lone Star Schools include one location in Katy, Harmony Science Academy–Katy. The elementary campus is located at 22400 Grand Corner Drive in Katy, near the intersection of the Grand Parkway and FM 1093.

The other two Harmony schools were Harmony Science Academy–Sugar Land and Harmony Science Academy–Euless.

“We are incredibly proud that three Harmony campuses have been recognized among only 28 schools across the entire state as 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools," said Harmony Public Schools CEO Fatih Ay. "This honor reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and families, and it highlights the high standards of excellence that define Harmony Public Schools. To be included in such a selective group is both humbling and motivating as we continue to provide a world-class education to every child we serve.” The previously named National Blue Ribbon Schools program transitioned to state leadership as part of the U.S. Department of Education’s efforts to return control of education back to the states.

"Texas is on the pathway to become No. 1 in educating our children," said Governor Abbott. "And Texas will continue to invest in our schools to improve performance and better prepare Texans for the workforce.”

“With Texas overseeing the new Lone Star Ribbon program, this recognition will better reflect the priorities and values of local schools and communities,” the Harmony press release said. “This change ensures that decisions about honoring excellence in Texas education are made by those who know Texas schools best.”

Harmony's curriculum places a heavy focus on STEM skills, character education, project-based learning and college readiness. The system has a 98 percent graduation rate for its high school seniors, and 100 percent college acceptance rate among its graduating seniors, the press release said. Harmony Public Schools is currently accepting applications for the 2025-26 school year for students and team members.
