The Sealy Chamber of Commerce and The Sealy News have teamed up with the Sugar Land Skeeters to hold a Sealy Day at the ballpark.

The special day at Constellation Field in Sugar Land will be held Sunday, June 30, when the local baseball team takes on the High Point Rockers, a new team from North Carolina in its inaugural season in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. The Skeeters are the defending Atlantic League champions.

The team will also be celebrating the birthday of its mascot Swatson, a big, green mosquito. The Sealy High School Tiger mascots are expected to join Swatson and several of his local mascot friends for a lot of fur-volity and hijinks throughout the game.

Sealy Mayor Janice Whitehead is scheduled to throw out the first pitch and several Sealy area residents at the game will have the opportunity to participate in contests and competitions between innings. Also, Yvonne Johnson will sing “God Bless America” at the game and there will be Sealy guests joining the announcer in the broadcast booth.

The Sealy Community Foundation will have a booth on the concourse of the stadium where they will sell tickets to Sealybration. They and the city will have videos played on the giant video board in the outfield.

The Skeeters are offering special discount tickets and are blocking off a select area in the stadium for guests from the Sealy area. You can use this special link to buy $15 box seats for $12 with a portion of the sales benefitting the Sealy Chamber of Commerce. Parking at the stadium is $5.

Regular activities on Sundays include guests being able to play catch on the field prior to the game, team autographs, and children running the bases after the game.
