The Seven Lakes High School Spartan Cheer Team is on of five cheer squads nationwide honored by Varsity TV in the 2020 Cheerleaders Choice: School Spirit Spotlight competition. The group was chosen out of 550 cheer teams nationwide.
“Our Spartans Cheerleaders are most deserving of this recognition and it is proof that their hard work does pay off,” said Varsity Cheer Coach Amy Weaston.
The cheer team had to submit a nomination package which included creative ways to support fellow Spartans and their methodology for motivating their school to pursue greatness, the release said.
The team is expected to compete in the NCA High School Nationals this coming January in Dallas. They are joined in the winners’ circle by four high school teams and one college team.
“To join five other highly admired cheer teams in the U.S. in receiving this recognition is a true honor and a testament that we can reach for the stars,” Weaston said.
