From classrooms to competition, Katy ISD students continue to shine.

This year, seven Katy ISD high schools earned a place in the Top 100 Houston-area high schools in the 2025–26 U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Leading the way is Seven Lakes High School, ranked number 10 in the Houston metro area and 51st in Texas. The school is also ranked 400th nationally, according to the report. The high school, which has 3,719 students, has a 98 percent graduation rate, the report said.

Also among the Top 10 schools in the Houston metro area are six other KISD campuses:

· Seven Lakes High School

· Obra D. Tompkins High School

· Cinco Ranch High School

· James E. Taylor High School

· Katy High School

· Jordan High School

· Patricia E. Paetow High School

“These achievements reflect the hard work, heart and excellence that define Katy ISD,” the district said in an August 25 post on its Facebook page. Read more: https://www.usnews.com/.../texas/rankings/houston-tx-26420.
