Posted

The Sealy Church of Christ recently welcomed new pastor Chris Hodges and his family to the congregation that worships at 201 6th Street.

Hodges brings with him a deep knowledge of the Bible. He first studied two years at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala., then two years at Memphis School of Preaching in Memphis, Tenn. He continued his studies at Freed-Hardeman University at Henderson, Tenn., where he received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Ministry, followed by a graduate certificate of Christian counseling.

At Freed-Hardeman he met and married his wife Ashley. The Hodges’ have two children, Laura and Matthew. The rest of the family includes a rescue dog, Sallie, and two cats, Ocean and River.

The Hodges family has worked in Kentucky, Florida, and Texas. Chris has also held Gospel meetings in 10 other states. He first heard about the Sealy church while working at the Katy Church of Christ. The Katy church sent volunteer preachers to Sealy and Chris was one of the men who volunteered their services.

The Hodges’ discussed their options and decided to add their name to the preacher search that Sealy church was undertaking.

The Sealy Church of Christ meets on Sundays for morning Bible study at 9:30 a.m., for worship at 10:30 a.m., and for evening worship at 6 p.m. On Wednesdays there is an evening Bible study in the annex at 7 p.m.
