The Royal Junior High School Student Council has been recognized with the Outstanding Award & Sweepstakes Award from the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) — the highest honors a student council can achieve in the state, Royal ISD announced in a March 3 press release.

“This recognition highlights the students’ exceptional leadership and dedication to service,” said a district spokesperson in the release.

The RJH Student Council excelled in all key areas evaluated by TASC, including:

· Drugs, alcohol, safety & health

· Community service

· Energy and environment

· Pride and patriotism

The following students played a key role in earning the honor: Fabian Campos, Anahi Valdez, Alexander Reyna, Kaylee Cruz, Gabriel Guerrero, Jan Campos, Heily Gonzalez, Jaidyn Houston, Braylie Brand, Killian Cedillo, Alexis Creed, Layle Uribe, Jennessey Palacios, and Alexia Venegas.

Additionally, Elizabeth Chaffin, the dedicated Student Council sponsor, played an integral role in guiding and supporting these outstanding student leaders, the district said.

“We are incredibly proud of our student council members for their hard work, commitment, and leadership,” said Rick Kershner, RISD superintendent. “This recognition from TASC is a testament to the positive impact they have on our school and community.”
