Royal ISD is preparing to welcome its staff back for the 2026-2027 school year, and the district is inviting local businesses to participate in welcoming teachers and staff back to school. Royal ISD's Annual Convocation, one of the district’s favorite traditions, will take place on Friday, August 7 at 7:30 at Royal High School 34499 Royal Road in Brookshire.

This year's theme is "Be the Coffee Bean," inspired by the bestselling book by Damon West, who will also serve as the event’s keynote speaker. Damon is a personal friend of Royal ISD Superintendent Megan Pape. “We're excited to bring his powerful message of resilience, leadership, and positive influence to our team,” district spokesperson Norma Martinez said.

The district expects approximately 650 Royal ISD employees to attend. Staff will begin arriving at 7:30 a.m. to enjoy breakfast and visit with business exhibitors during a 45-minute vendor fair before the program begins.

Exhibitor tables are complimentary and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Setup will be available on the afternoon of August 6 or in the early morning on August 7.

There are also additional sponsorship opportunities available; the district is seeking donations of door prizes and gift cards to help make the event special for RISD staff. Door prize sponsors will be recognized during the event.

For more information, or to sign up as an exhibitor, please contact Norma Martinez RISD Director of Marketing and Communications, at nmartinez@royal-isd.net.
