Veronica Chavez is one of five winners of a $2,000 “Funding the Future” scholarship provided by Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union. Chavez graduated from Royal High School with a 4.24 GPA and will attend Texas State University in the Fall, majoring in Nursing.
This is the credit union’s second year offering $10,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors within BVSCU’s field of membership.
“We are very excited to have Veronica in the BVSCU family and to help with her educational goals,” said BVSCU President/CEO Yvonne Kershner.
The winners were selected by a panel of eight judges. Other winners came from Brenham, Katy, Rice Consolidated and Needville Independent School Districts.
