Royal High School’s football team was listed in twenty-second place by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football in the 2025 pre-season rankings for Class 4A Division II. Campbell’s guide is considered the bible of Texas high school football.
The Falcons had a 7-4record in 2024 and will return seven offensive and eight defensive starters for the fall season.
Campbell’s comment on the team, which was included with the rankings, said, “Falcons could grab first outright district title since ’05.”
“I think it’s an honor to be mentioned in the Dave Campbell’s Top 25 4A DII pre-season rankings,” said head coach Theadis Reagins. “That speaks to the respect our program has earned over the past four seasons I’ve been here as head coach. But more importantly, it’s about our amazing kids in this program who have worked relentlessly to ensure the Royal Football program is respected.”
The top ten ranking teams in Class 4A Division II were Carthage, Texarkana Pleasant Grove, Waco La Vega, Brock, Sealy, Bellville, Sunnyvale, West Orange Stark, Gilmer and Graham.
