In Loving Memory of Ronald Eugene Rivers
Ronald Eugene Rivers, a devoted husband, loving father, and distinguished engineer, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023, in Katy, Texas, surrounded by his cherished family and friends.
Ronald “Ronnie” Rivers was born on August 10, 1938, in Ponca City, Oklahoma where he lived with his mother, Delma Rivers, his father, Eugene Rivers, his brother Warren Rivers and sister, Beth Rivers until he graduated high school at Ponca City Senior High School.
He proudly served his country as an Army Ranger, before he pursued higher education and earned a master's degree in petroleum and chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University. Ronald held his alma mater in high regard, and he remained a proud and enthusiastic alumni throughout his life.
His career as an engineer took him and his family on a remarkable journey that spanned the globe. Ronald's work with Amoco and Exxon led him to various corners of the world, including West Texas, Chicago, Cairo, Egypt, Tripoli, Libya, Trinidad and Tobago, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, various countries in Africa eventually settling in Katy, Texas in 1987.
Ron’s death follows the passing of his beloved wife, Alice Eve Thompson Rivers, on September 22, 2017, and his cherished granddaughter, Kacy Elizabeth Rivers, on July 9, 2022.
He is survived by his son, William “Bill” Eugene Rivers, and William's wife, Katy Rivers, along with their son, William Cole Rivers.
Ron's daughter, Caroline Elizabeth Rivers San Andres, and her husband, Alexander San Andres, along with their children, Scarlett Eve San Andres and August San Andres, also carry on his legacy.
Additionally, he leaves behind his sister, Elan Ri Shakti (Beth Rivers).
Ron will be remembered not only as a dedicated professional but also as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished friend, a lover of baseball and OSU and as a passionate animal lover.
He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Alice, on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Oakwood Cemetary in Hickory, North Carolina.
Ronald Rivers' legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
