Royal ISD congratulated Head Athletic Groundskeeper Jose “Pipe” Lopez on his pro baseball jersey retirement in an April 5 post on Facebook.
The Montañeses AA Club de Uturdo officially retired #7 on April 12, 2025.
Lopez was the 1996 AA batting champ, the district said.
