Brookshire Mayor Pro Tem Robert Chris Richards won a decisive victory in the Brookshire mayoral race, beating out incumbent Darrell Branch and former Alderman Position 2 Tony McAnelly. Richards earned 65.92 per cent (294) of the vote while McAnelly received 20.85 per cent (93)of the ballots.
Alderman Monique Taylor, facing Maria Ugartechea, retained her place representing Position 1, with 72.62 percent (313) of the vote. Alderperson for Position 2 Lyndon Stamps, who ran unopposed, received 100 percent of the 376 votes cast in that race.
The Brookshire municipal water district proposition A passed with 64.27 per cent (227) of the votes. The proposed bond issue will fund purchasing, constructing, operating and improving water, sanitary sewer and drainage facilities within the district.
