Rhonda Gail Rogers Holman was born on March 17, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois to Charles Rogers and Wilma “Loretta” Darty. Rhonda resided in the Katy area for over 18 years and was an outstanding member of the community. Her dual career as a teacher and a real estate agent greatly served the families of the area for many years. Rhonda achieved her Masters of Education and was an exceptional teacher, serving many schools, she taught in many different grade levels in the Katy Independent School District, Houston Independent School District and Fort Bend Independent School District. She enjoyed being an educator and cherished molding the future of young students that were under her care. Over the past 5+ years, her main focus was her real estate career. This was a driving force that brought her to the Katy community.
Rhonda met the love of her life, U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, Howard George “Skip” Holman, in 2004 and married him in Harris County, Texas on May 2¸ 2014. She was known for being a gracious host and putting in the greatest of effort into making her guest feel welcomed. It was not unusual to hear ‘80’s themed music at the parties with Rick Springfield guaranteed at the top of the list. Rhonda was known for being a longtime fan, dating back to her teenage years of Rick’s music and was an enthusiastic member of the Rick Springfield Fan Club.
Rhonda passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in Katy, Texas at the age of 52.
She is survived by her loving husband Howard “Skip” Holman of Katy, Texas and her beloved daughters; daughter Aerial Rademacher of Houston, Texas; daughter Karla Testa and significant other, Shawn Norton of Johnsburg, Illinois; and her 6 adored grandchildren; Teralynn Rademacher, Ignatius Karr, Amelia Flagg, Emmett Flagg, Benjamin Agricola and Scarlett Norton; Rhonda’s devoted mother, Loretta Rogers of Romeoville, Illinois; sister, Joanne Rogers of Palatine, Illinois; brother, Brian Rogers of Shorewood, Illinois; brother, Brad Rogers of Romeoville, Illinois; and her affectionate fur babies Kingsley, Petey and Levi. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Rogers, and her beloved Lhasa Apso, Spencer Abu.
The family will receive friends at a public visitation on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Grand Parkway Chapel with Rev. C. McAllister “Mac” Vaughn officiating.
