Do you have costumes that no longer fit? Or maybe you’re seeking fresh fashion accessories, opting for an entirely new style, tempted to try a new trend, or simply don’t want to break the bank while preparing costume attire for the fall season, a Comic Con, or even a themed party.

No matter the reason, Cinco Ranch Branch Library’s Annual Costume Swap: Drop Off can help with those needs.

In the era of fast fashion overrunning landfills, costume swaps are a keen way to demonstrate the benefit of reusing well-preserved specialized clothing. National Costume Swap Day is held on the second Saturday of October, but the Cinco Ranch Branch is getting ahead of the game. By encouraging the community to donate gently used costumes, the library can benefit those looking to rid themselves of unused costumes as well as those hoping to gain something new and possibly inspirational.

From Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, you may donate gently used, freshly laundered, and bagged costumes with all the pieces to the library during regular business hours.

The library is accepting costumes for all ages, sizes, and styles in preparation for its annual costume swap.

Those who bring a costume to the information desk on the first floor will receive one ticket per costume, which gives them early access to the costume swap on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 10:30 am – 12 noon in the Meeting Room.

The Cinco Ranch Branch Library is located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.
