Rebekah June Taplin Schumacher Obituary
In Loving Memory
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and cherished member of the community. Though words cannot fully express the loss we feel, we celebrate a life that touched so many and left a legacy of kindness, warmth, and inspiration.
A Life Well Lived
Rebekah June Taplin Schumacher was born on June 10, 1958, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and departed from us on September 8, 2025, in Katy, Texas, at the age of sixty-seven years.
Family and Early Life
Becky grew up in Kalamazoo and Aurora, CO, where she attended Aurora Central High School. While she was there, she met her husband of forty-seven years, James Placid Schumacher. In high school, she developed her love for tennis, cheerleading, track & field, and student council.
Career and Achievements
Becky pursued careers in home furnishing sales, personal training, recreation ministry, and real estate, in which she excelled and was respected by colleagues and clients alike. Her dedication, work ethic, and innovative spirit led to many accomplishments in Colorado, Alaska, and Texas, but it was her integrity and kindness that truly distinguished her. She will be remembered for her dedication to family and friends and her devotion to Christ.
Survived By
After marriage, Becky’s three children and fourteen grandchildren were the center of her world, and she was always grateful for the gifts that God gave her. She is survived by her spouse James, daughter Sheresa, sons Jared and Jordan, and siblings Robert and Richard Taplin. Her grandchildren Charlotte, James, John, Caliope, Jacob, Clare, Cyprienne, and Camille of Bismarck, ND; Ethyn and Mason of Katy, TX; and Jude, Justus, and Julia of Rocklin, CA will all miss her dearly, as well as a wide circle of friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Cle Taplin, sister Debby Metzig, and grandson Owen Levassar.
Celebration of Life
A service to celebrate Becky Schumacher's life will be held on November 18, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church on FM 1463. All those who wish to honor her memory are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the go-fund-me page for her handicapped grandson Mason Levassar at https://www.gofundme.com/f/becky-schumacher-4-mason-care, or sent to the Adira Pregnancy Help Center of Katy, Texas, in honor of Becky’s commitment to helping others.

May she rest in peace, remembered, and loved.
