The Pattison City Council approved an agreement with Waller County and will host a COVID-19 testing site, as discussed during their July 7 meeting.
The council passed an interlocal agreement between the county of Waller and the city of Pattison for on-site sewage facility permits and inspections. The city of Pattison will pay the county $100 per month for the service of issuing permits and inspections. The city and the county previously did not have a formal agreement on this issue. Mayor Joe Garcia said he hopes this agreement brings “a more streamlined and consistent effort so that folks who want to come into our community can go through the process without any more complication.”
A COVID-19 testing site will be held on July 23 at the Pattison Fire Department from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents will be screened if they exhibit symptoms such as fever or chills, cough, headaches, sore throat or body aches. To register, visit txcovidtest.org or call 512-883-2400. An appointment must be made before arriving at the testing site.
Council members were invited to read a proposed Subdivision ordinance before action is taken at the next meeting. Mayor Garcia also discussed needed repairs on the City Park’s equipment, fences, and the needed to remove several beehives and poison ivy. Garcia said he will bring back a cost estimate at the next meeting for councilmembers to review before voting.
Three Planning Commission members were also reappointed.
