On Thursday, June 20, 20 local law enforcement officers participated in an educational outreach effort entitled “Operation Safe Kids/Drug and Alcohol Trends” program which was sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Colorado Austin Waller Child Fatality Review Team, and Texas Extension Education Association of Austin County.
During the training, law enforcement from most all branches of services in Austin County were trained on the trends related to alcohol affecting youths and adults and the importance of child passenger safety for children. Presenters were from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Watch UR BAC (Alcohol and Drug Awareness) and Passenger Safety. The event was conducted at the Bellville Fire Station.
