Posted

Two separate naming advisory committees Dec. 12 have given Katy ISD trustees their recommended names for the district’s newest elementary schools.

The committees recommended David and Terri Youngblood for Elementary 45, and Russell and Cindie Faldyn for Elementary 46. The Youngbloods and Faldyns who are former educators and district leaders who continue to contribute to Katy ISD.

The Youngbloods have been dedicated to the field of education for decades and have demonstrated a passion for students, staff and the Katy ISD community through a collective 77 years of service.

The Faldyns have also been a fixture in the Katy ISD community for decades. They have contributed a combined 66 years of service to support public education.

Both couples are still actively involved in the school district and across campuses.

The district was scheduled to host a public forum Dec. 14 in the board room at the Katy ISD Education Support Complex to enable input regarding the proposed names.

Trustees are expected to take final action on the name recommendations at their Jan. 23 meeting.

Elementary 45 will be located at 25600 Longenbaugh Road. Elementary 46 will be located at 25615 Clay Road. Both locations are in the northwest quadrant of Katy ISD.
