Registration is now open for the Katy YMCA’s 24th Annual Turkey Dash, returning Thursday, Nov. 26, at the Monty Ballard YMCA, 22807 Westheimer Parkway in Katy. One of Katy’s longest-running Thanksgiving traditions, the event brings together thousands of runners, walkers, families, volunteers and community partners while raising funds to support YMCA programs that strengthen the community year-round.

“Thanksgiving is a time to come together, and the Katy YMCA Annual Turkey Dash has become a tradition that reflects the strength and spirit of the Katy area,” said Stephen Ives, president and CEO, YMCA of Greater Houston. “Year after year, the Katy community shows what is possible when people come together in supporting and participating in an event that helps provide children, families and seniors with access to YMCA programs that help them learn, grow and thrive.”

For more than two decades, the Katy YMCA Turkey Dash has helped strengthen the local community while raising more than $3.5 million to support programs and services at the Monty Ballard YMCA. Proceeds from the event help provide financial assistance and expand access to youth sports, swim lessons and water safety, summer day camp, after-school enrichment, teen leadership, membership assistance and programs in Katy.

Registration is now open for runners and walkers of all ages. Participants may choose from a 10K timed run, 5K timed run/walk, one-mile family run/walk or one-mile kids race. Following the races, participants are invited to enjoy the Turkey Tailgate, a post-race celebration featuring local vendors, family-friendly activities and opportunities to connect with community organizations.

Additionally, sponsorship and vendor booth opportunities are available, offering businesses and community organizations meaningful ways to support the YMCA’s mission of strengthening the Katy community by empowering youth, supporting healthy families and fostering inclusive communities.

The Katy YMCA Turkey Dash is an opportunity for neighbors to celebrate and connect with one another during Thanksgiving while supporting YMCA programs that encourage healthy living and support individuals and families across the Katy area.
