“Linda Mikeska was a part of Katy Heritage Park from its inception,” said current Katy Heritage Park Board President Marilyn Frishman at the September 15 dedication of a bench in Mikeska’s honor. The bench is located next to the Humble Oil Mess Hall at the park at 5990 George Bush Drive in Katy. The restoration of the mess hall was a cause dear to Mikeska’s heart, onlookers said.
