Mayola Varnam
Mayola Varnam was born on November 21, 1932 in Berwick, Louisiana to Pierre and Felicia (Blanchard) Lodrigue. She married the love of her life, William Jerry Varnam on December 26, 1952 in the same town she was born and raised. They had two children from this union; Timothy and Belinda.
She loved her family and loved to dote on her grandchildren. Mayola enjoyed sewing and crafts. Gardening was her favorite pastime. She has lived in the Katy area for the last 20+ years.
Mayola Varnam passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 in Katy, Texas at the age of 90 years.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, William J. Varnam; son, Timothy Varnam of Breau Bridge, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jennifer DiMarco, Dustin Nolting, Heather Varnam and Daniel Nolting; four great grandchildren; sister, Ethel Hedrick of Berwick, Louisiana; numerous other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Belinda Ann Nolting Curry.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Schmidt Funeral Home East Avenue Chapel, in Katy, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with Deacon Tom D’Andrea reciting. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, in Katy, with Rev. Miguel Solorzano, Celebrant. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2023 at Houston National Cemetery, in Houston.
