Dec. 20, 1938 – June 17, 2019
Louis George Rossler Jr. was born on Dec. 20, 1938, to his parents Louis George Rossler Sr. and Florence Lee Esar Rossler and passed away on June 17, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
Louis attended Sealy High School, Blinn College for one year, and then served six months with the Army Reserves. He married Mary Louise Rapsilver on Dec. 1, 1962, and lived in Spring Branch until they moved to their home in San Felipe.
Louis and Mary had two children – Jon William and Matthew David. Louis worked in the construction business for many years, but his true love was for his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his pride possession – his cows! Every morning you could find “Honky” at the coffee shop visiting with the guys and then out to the “headquarters” to check the cows! After taking care of business there, he’d head home to work in the yard or many numerous projects he had going on. He was constantly on the go.
Louis Rossler is survived by his wife Mary, son Jon Rossler, sister Sylvia Giammalva and her husband Saverio, and brother-in-law Larry Rapsilver and his wife Janet. He is also survived by nieces Jana Giammalva, Charisse Knight and her husband Kevin, Victoria Minton and her husband Jarrett, and Carolyn Ritchey and her husband Frank, and his nephew Charles Rapsilver and his wife Michelle plus many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Louis Rossler was preceded in death by his parents Louis Rossler Sr. and Florence Rossler and his son Matthew David.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Ben E. Novicke, Billy Schaffner, Kenny Schneider, Frank Ritchey, Kevin Knight, and Jarrett Minton. Services were held on June 20, 2019, at Knesek Funeral Chapel on Hwy 36 in Sealy with the Rev. Joel McMahon officiating. Interment was in the San Felipe de Austin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to one of the following:
