Katy ISD celebrated the individuals whose names grace its schools and facilities during a special Namesake Appreciation Night held at halftime of Friday’s Cinco Ranch Cougars vs. Fulshear Chargers playoff football game at Legacy Stadium on November 14. The event recognized individuals and families who have made a lasting impact on the district through years of service to students, teachers and the community.
Standing on the field under the Friday night lights, namesakes and their families received cheers and applause as fans and community members acknowledged their contributions to the district, the Katy community and beyond.
“Your commitment to our schools and community plays a vital role in shaping the success of Katy ISD,” Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski said. “You inspire countless young minds to dream bigger and strive for excellence. Your impact extends far beyond the walls of our schools and echoes in the hearts and minds of every student and staff member.”
Namesake Appreciation Night is one of Katy ISD’s longstanding traditions, celebrating individuals who have helped shape the district’s past, present and future through service, leadership and generosity.
