Following a successful experience streaming its holiday concert, Kerrville’s Symphony of the Hills will make its Pops concert available free to the public on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Streaming begins at 8:00 p.m. with the concert starting at 8:30. The link is online at www.symphonyofthehills.org, and the performance will be available during that time only. While access is free, the public will be able to make donations via the web site in support of the Symphony. The production will be professionally produced, with multiple cameras and sound mixing.

The concert theme is An American Songbook. The evening’s program focuses on American music, with a line-up of American compositions including Bernstein’s West Side Story, Gershwin’s Of Thee I Sing, and a clarinet concerto performed by principal clarinetist Dr. Tamara Raatz. Guests will also enjoy a medley of Johnny Mathis songs, a visit from the Pink Panther, and Dr. Joe Stuessy’s An American Anthology. The concert finale includes a surprise guest artist.

For those wishing to attend the concert in person at the Cailloux Theater, a few seats remain for both the 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. performances.
