KCM’s new Endurance Fund allows donors to ‘Give once, count twice’

On October 2, Katy Christian Ministries officially launched The Endurance Fund, making the announcement in its Friday e-newsletter.

“Thanks to an extraordinary and generous matching gift pledge from an anonymous friend of KCM, every single dollar you give from now until December 31, 2026, will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $250,000,” said Executive Director Kyle Strickland in the announcement. “That means our community-wide goal for the fourth quarter is a combined $500,000 of life-changing impact.”

The new initiative is named “endurance” because the work the organization does across its social services department, its newly expanded Food Center, and its crisis intervention programs requires steadfast endurance, Strickland said The matching gift campaign is designed to accelerate our community-wide giving right when the need is greatest -- clearing financial hurdles and supercharging the food distribution and crisis response so that no neighbor ever has to face a crisis unsupported, he said.

The Endurance Fund campaign runs officially from October 1 through December 31, 2026. Every qualified public contribution, whether from individuals, local businesses, foundations, or partner churches, is doubled automatically. A $50 gift becomes $100. A $500 gift becomes $1,000.

“By unlocking the full $250,000 match, we will generate a massive $500,000 wave of support to fuel our mission through the end of the year and into 2027,” Strickland said.
