Katy residents looking for a way to support Katy Tiger athletes are set to hold what they’re calling the Katy Tiger Spirit Train. The event is an informal parade of sorts set to leave at 5 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 20 from the Cane Island Amenity Center (starred in the route photo above), organizers said.
From the starting point, the route will take celebrants north to Franz Road, then along Avenue D and then eastbound onto Morton Road. Once the procession gets rolling down Katy Hockley Cut Off Road, it will travel south past Katy Junior High and onto Katyland Drive. The along East Fifth Street to East Avenue, then west on First Street and north on Cane Island Parkway to its starting point.
Participants are welcome to wear their Katy Tiger spirit apparel and can buy some at the Cane Island amenity Center from 5-8 p.m. organizers said.
Vehicles are welcome but walkers are not allowed. Katy Police and Fire departments will be escorting the procession for safety.
