Katy Rodeo parade set for Feb. 14 along traditional route through downtown Katy

One of the most popular events in the City of Katy, the Katy Rodeo Parade will take place on February 14 starting at 9:30 a.m. The route remains the same as in previous years, departing the west gate of Rhodes Stadium onto Katyland Drive, continuing west on Highway Blvd. and ending at Katy High School on FM 1463.

The theme this year is “Red White & Blue 250 Years” to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday.

Grand marshal for this year’s parade is David Fleming, a retired ag teacher who worked in several different high schools within the district and had an impact on many students lives over the years, said Gary Johnson, rodeo president.

Parade entry information may be found on the Rodeo’s website at https://www.katyrodeo.org. There is no charge to participate in the parade. However, pre-registration is required, and registration is open until Wednesday, February 11. All parade entries will be required to pre-register with a 2026 Parade Registration Form which includes a detailed description of the parade entry with theme, type of business, participants and type of decorations, signed and submitted in advance.

Parade Judging Categories are:

· Adult general

· Cars, toys and tractors

· Churches/church organizations

· Civic organizations

· Commercial

· Cowboys/cowgirls

· Performing/marching Groups

· School organizations

· Scouting organizations


Any group that wishes to perform for the judges must be ready to start their performance when they reach the judges’ stand. Each group will have 30 seconds to perform before being asked to move on.


First and second place will be awarded in each judging category with a plaque.


The parade is a community and family friendly event. As such, all entries should avoid controversial advertisements and inappropriate behavior and/or music selections, according to the Rodeo website. All entries will be screened to ensure compliance with Katy ISD policies regarding prohibited items such as tobacco, alcohol, firearms, and drug products.

Participants must arrive starting at 7 a.m. at Academy Sports Complex - Rhodes Stadium East Gate at1733 Katy Fort Bend Road, Katy. Rodeo officials emphasized that there is no entry from Katyland Drive or Legacy Stadium.
