Katy Responds announces new board member

Posted

Katy Responds announced on January 9 that Mark Carroll has joined the nonprofit’s board of directors.

Carroll did not grow up in the Katy/Houston area but is a fifth-generation Texan from South Texas. He and his wife, Kristi, moved to Houston more than twenty-five years ago to pursue opportunities at the encouragement of his college fraternity brothers.

Upon arriving in Houston, Carroll has been blessed with a successful career in finance, construction and commercial real estate development with projects in Houston and South Texas, primarily for retail development. He and Kristi moved to Katy with the news of the impending birth of their first child and only daughter, Kayla, who recently graduated from Texas A&M. Three years later came the blessing of their second child and only son, Reid, who is a sophomore at Texas State University.

Carroll's wife, Kristi, is very involved in Young Men's Service League (YMSL) and it was through her involvement with YMSL that he was introduced to Katy Responds and their ministry.

“We look forward to Mark serving on the Board of Directors and know that with his leadership and desire to serve others, Katy Responds will be able to better serve our community,” said a spokesperson for the organization in the January 9 press release.

Katy Responds began operations in 2018 and the mission is to be the hands and feet of Christ by partnering with volunteers and stewarding resources to create a safe and secure home for vulnerable seniors and low-income families.
