The following are local athletes competing at the UIL state track and field Class 5A meet on Friday, May 7, and Class 6A meet on Saturday, May 8 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas in Austin.
Listed are the events and the athletes who qualified, with their seed placement and time. Athletes or relays seeded first, second or third are in bold type.
Four Katy ISD representatives are seeded first in their respective events: Cinco Ranch’s Sophie Atkinson (1600-meter run), Seven Lakes’ 4x400 girls relay team, Cinco Ranch’s Amelia Flynt (shot put) and Taylor’s Bryce Foster (shot put).
Seven Lakes' girls team comes into the state meet having won the Region III-6A championship.
