The new year began with numerous state recognitions for three Katy Independent School District high schools.
Cinco Ranch, Katy, and Taylor high school FFA groups took home a combined 17 recognitions after participating in numerous leadership development events (LDE’s). Additionally, 10 percent of the FFA LDE Top Teams were composed of Katy ISD alone and the Katy High School FFA won the Overall Sweepstakes Award.
“These competitions make agricultural science instruction come to life. They create situations for our FFA students to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization,” said CTE Instructional Specialist Ashlee Laird.
