Katy ISD hosted its annual All Coaches Recognition event during the first week of August, bringing together coaches from across the district for a comprehensive training and awards ceremony aimed at celebrating athletic excellence and ensuring compliance with the University Interscholastic League (UIL) guidelines.

The event is an annual meeting that covers updates on UIL policies, expectations for coaches and plans for the 2025-2026 school year, the district said in an August 7 press release. In addition, the occasion honored exceptional contributions and achievements throughout the past year, culminating in awards that recognized categories including athletes and coaches of the year, foundation coaches of the year and the athletic trainer of the year.

Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski delivered the keynote address, emphasizing that athletics is a critical extension of Katy ISD classrooms and the important role coaches play in teaching perseverance, responsibility, teamwork and leadership, all of which support lifelong success.

“You are mentors, role models and a steady presence in the lives of our students,” Gregorski said. “You shape culture and school pride—building unity on campuses, bringing communities together and reflecting the excellence that Katy ISD is known for across Texas and the nation.”
