Juneteenth celebrations
The first of two Juneteenth celebrations took place in Katy on Saturday, June 15, in the green space adjacent to Antioch Baptist Church, 655 Danover Street. Attendees enjoyed hot dogs and live music.

Cruel reminders of the realities of slavery were on display at the Juneteenth celebration on Danover Street in Katy on Saturday, June 15th. Items included collars, cuffs, nooses, chains, and posters advertising rewards for runaway slaves.
