Jerry Wayne Bolden was born on December 13, 1957 in Avon Park, Florida to Ben and Ruth Cox Bolden. On January 17, 1981, he married Doris Moody in San Antonio, Texas. Jerry and Doris have lived in Katy since 1998, where they are members of the New Life Church. Jerry was an avid drag racer and a legend in his own right. He loved to buy and sell car parts and was considered the “King of the Streets” in street racing. Most importantly, he loved his family. He and Doris are the owners and operators of J&D Environmental in Katy.
Jerry Wayne Bolden passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in Katy, at the age of 62.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Bolden of Katy; children, Jerry Bolden, Jr. of Katy, Samantha Riese and her husband Rick of Waller, and Patrick Fuqua and his wife Thy-Thy (“TT”) of Boyd, Texas; grandchildren, Alexa Bolden, Jordan Riese, Tyler Riese, Tap Fuqua, Wates Fuqua, Josh Gowen, and Ashley Gowen; brother, Bennie Bolden of Bastrop; nephews, Daniel Bolden and Doug Bolden; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ricky Bolden.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the New Life Church in Cypress, with Rev. Steve Weaver officiating. Interment in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Bellville, Texas.
