Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman and apparent suicide of a man at Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus, 18200 Katy Fwy. The shootings occurred at about 2 p.m. Dec. 4.
The identities of the female victim and the man are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Houston police officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of the hospital. There, they found a female inside the hospital with a gunshot wound. Hospital personnel pronounced her dead. A man was found unresponsive in a parked vehicle outside the hospital. He was pronounced dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A preliminary investigation indicated the male and female knew each other, and were possibly in a dating relationship.
The department continues to investigate the matter. Anyone with more information in this case is asked to contact the Houston Police Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
