Houston City College NW President Zachary Hodges spoke at the Oct. 8 meeting of the Katy Area Retired Educators (KARE) at the Community Rooms at Legacy Stadium, 1830 Katyland Drive in Katy. Hodges shared recent updates on the college’s Katy campus at 22910 Colonial Parkway, including its successful dual enrollment program now involving 5,000 Katy ISD students, as well as details about new programs at the school such as its two bachelor’s degree programs and new degree plans in AI, robotics, engineering and horticulture, among others, and its partnerships with the University of Houston, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M and UT Tyler. Hodges said that the Katy campus, which opened in 2022, has now reached its capacity of 4800 students and is now in need of an additional building.
