Harmony School of Innovation-Katy has been named a winner of the 2026 America’s Best Schools Award by the National Center for Urban School Transformation (NCUST), the charter school system announced on May 19. The campus is located at 21650 Bellaire in Richmond. Harmony School of Innovation-Katy was one of only 25 schools named to the honor roll. Of those, 17 schools advanced to finalist status, and ultimately, 13 schools were selected as winners. The recognition highlights the school’s commitment to academic excellence and student success, school officials said. The America’s Best Schools Award honors campuses that demonstrate strong outcomes in academic proficiency, student engagement and postsecondary readiness. To be considered, schools must meet rigorous criteria, including high academic proficiency rates, demonstrated achievement among students with disabilities and English learners, low suspension rates and high attendance. Additional criteria apply to high schools, dual-language programs and alternative campuses, with an emphasis on graduation rates and college credit attainment. The National Center for Urban School Transformation, based at San Diego State University, works nationally with districts and partners to support school transformation so that all students graduate prepared for college, careers and civic life. All winners have been invited to the 2027 America’s Best Schools Symposium, scheduled for March 9-10, 2027, in San Diego. Harmony Public School is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year for students.
