Gary Lynn Jordan was born on June 28, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Leonard Clark “L.C.” and Beulah Waggoner Jordan. He grew up on the Katy prairie and spent time off and on farming rice. He was a 1957 graduate of Katy High School, where he was heavily involved in the Katy FFA. Gary enjoyed being outside, whether traveling or fishing. His greatest joys were his grandchildren and he treasured the time spent with them. He could never pass up a great cheeseburger, and he was always seen wearing a plaid shirt. Gary spent his mornings with a coffee club and dabbled in woodworking. He never knew a stranger, always had a joke ready, and talked about Katy to anyone who would listen.
Gary passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Katy, at the age of 83.
He is survived by his children, Wayne Jordan and his wife Sibyl, Ken Jordan and his wife Stacy, and Susan Jordan; grandchildren, Chance Jordan, Cheyenne Jordan, John Curbo, and Ella Curbo; brother, Bill Jordan and his wife Marsha; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
