Harmony Public Schools Houston North District welcomed 32 teams, educators, and community members to the Spring 2026 Aerial Drone Competition February 7at Harmony School of Excellence-Katy Middle High School, 6300 Peek Road, Katy. This year marks the tenth Aerial Drone Competition hosted by Harmony Public Schools Houston North District, and the sixth consecutive year the district has participated in this dynamic national program. The event celebrates innovation, teamwork, and STEM excellence as students pilot drones through challenging courses that test their skills in precision, collaboration, and strategy. “This competition gives students the chance to challenge themselves and try new ideas,” said Yilmaz Kahraman, district STEM coach. “Watching their confidence, creativity, and problem-solving grow each year is incredible.” The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) is a global organization dedicated to increasing student engagement in science, technology, engineering, math, and computer science (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, curriculum-based robotics and drone programs. Through comprehensive programs encompassing competitions, education, and workforce readiness, the foundation empowers educators to inspire and equip students for success. The REC Foundation strives to create a future where every student designs and innovates as part of a team, overcomes failure, perseveres, and emerges confident in their ability to meet global challenges. Through sustainable and affordable curriculum-based robotics programs, the REC Foundation inspires students, one robot at a time. The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation receives support from organizations such as NASA and the Department of Defense (DoD) STEM. The Aerial Drone Competition features Robolink’s CoDrone EDU, a versatile and programmable drone tailored for educational use.
