On August 23, a community-supported 3K walk event took place in Brookshire, starting at Bostick Park at 4123 First Street, following an opening prayer led by Pastor Charles Thompkins. The event was backed by local churches, Masons, community members and the Falcons football team from Royal High School. Head Coach Theadis Reagins said that the football coaching staff and players wanted to engage with the community along with the walk.
